Boys' Soccer
Coach Aanderud and the boys soccer team won their second consecutive CIF Championship by defeating Saddleback on Saturday. Led by two goals from Edgar Bran, a total team effort defended their championship. The team won back-to-back titles for the first team in the school's history for soccer.
CIF Wrestling Champions
Aaron La Farge and Bryan Barocio each won their weight class at the CIF Wrestling Championships. They will now move on and compete in the CIF Masters Meet. Congratulations to these outstanding student-athletes and Coach DeNolf.
Freeway League Champions
Congratulations to the Boys Basketball program as they were league champions in all four levels of competition. Great job to the Girls Water Polo teams as they won league at the Varsity and Frosh/Soph.levels. Finally, the Boys Soccer team won league and will defend their CIF title starting next week.
Highlander Wrestling
Congratulations to Coach DeNolf and his wrestling program for their great success at the Freeway League Finals on February 2. The Highlanders were successful in winning four individual league championships. Our 2008 league champs are Aaron LaFarge, Brian Barrocio, Thomas Negrette, and Sam Kurth. Also moving on to represent our school at the CIF Tournament will be Patrick Pico, Sean Rockoff, and Jose Diaz. Great job and good luck.
Boys Varsity Soccer
The Boys Varsity soccer team defeated Aliso Niguel 3-0 to win the Brea Soccer Tournament. This was their sixth appearance in a row in a tournament championship match starting back in December 2006. Last season, the Boys won the H.H. Wilson Tournament, the Don Lugo Tournament, and took 2nd place in the Brea Tournament. They finished the season by winning the CIF Championship. This season they picked up from last year and finished 2nd in the Sunny Hills Tournament and most recently won the Brea Tournament. Congratulations and keep up the good work.
CIF Southeast Conference Champions
Led by Head Coach Frank Mazzotta the Highlanders won their third CIF Championship in the past six years. The Highlanders defeated Fullerton 16-6 at the Santa Ana Bowl to clinch the conference crown for 2007.Great job to the coaches and to all of our outstanding student-athletes. They made us all extremly proud to be La Habra Highlanders.

Orange County Athlete of the Year
Greg Francis who excelled in football, soccer, and track was chosen as the 2006-2007 Athlete of the Year for Orange County at an awards dinner hosted by the Orange County Athletic Directors on Tuesday, May 29th. He was chosen from the 15 different candidates representing the leagues from all over the county. A truly magnificent accomplishment for this outstanding La Habra Highlander.
