Summer Office Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:30 am - 5 pm (Closed Fridays)
Guidance
Work Permits may be obtained from the Guidance Secretary , Room 11, during the school year and from the Summer School Secretary during the summer. Students with poor attendance may be refused Work Permits, and Work Permits may be revoked by the school for attendance reasons.
The first step in the Work Permit process is taking an application form to the employer for completion. This application is returned and the actual permit is typed up and given to the student. Work hours for minors are limited both in total hours and length of hours, particularly on school nights. Fourteen and fifteen year olds may work no more than 18 hours a week during the school year, no more than 3 hours a day, and not after 7:00 p.m.
Sixteen and seventeen year olds may work no more than 28 hours a week during the school year, and not more than 4 hours a day, and not after 10:00 p.m. Rules for summer allow more hours. For more specific information, please see the Guidance Secretary.
