La Habra High School maintains a closed campus. Students remain on
campus throughout their scheduled school day with the following exceptions:
- Upper-class students (grades 10-12) with ID may leave campus at
lunch.
- Students who check out through the attendance office for off-campus
appointments or due to illness may leave campus without earning a
truancy.
- Students approved to attend a school/district sponsored off-campus
event or contest.
Freshman students are not permitted to leave campus at lunch.
Upperclassmen will be allowed to leave campus at lunch upon display of
their ID cards. Background color of IDs will be different for 9th graders from
that of students in grades 10, 11, and 12.
Obtaining or having their ID card distributed on August 21, 22, or 24 will
be
important to upper grade students who wish to leave the school campus at
lunch on August 31 or after. As delineated above, they must show IDs to
campus supervisors and administrators at campus exit points in order to leave!
All students who wish to leave the school campus at lunch, beginning
Thursday, August 3lst, must present their current LHHS ID to campus
supervisors and/or administrators at campus exit points!
Students are
required to leave campus after their last scheduled class. Students are not
allowed to leave
campus between classes or during the mid-morning break. (This includes leaving
campus
to go to vehicles to get books or supplies.)
Students with lunch privileges may use their
cars during the lunch period only. Upperclass
students leaving campus at lunch must display
their school ID card when requested by a staff
member.
In the event that a student leaves campus
during the lunch period, neither the District nor any of its employees
are liable for the conduct or safety of the students during that period.
The following CLOSED CAMPUS rules and regulations are in effect
at La Habra High School:
- The residential areas to the east of the campus (off Orchard, Pinehurst,
Greenwood and Highlander) and those south (off Lydia, Marian, and Virginia) are
off limits and out of bounds for students. La Bonita Park, west of the
campus,
is off limits during school hours including lunch.
- The rights of property ownership are to be observed at all times; LITTERING,
LOITERING AND TRESPASSING WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.
- Loitering or sitting in vehicles in the parking areas at the high school
during
lunch period will not be permitted.
- Students are not permitted to enter upon the neighboring elementary,
intermediate, or high school campuses at lunch or during school hours.
- Smoking is not permitted at any time on the La Habra High School campus
or in adjacent areas to the school (i.e., across the street on Highlander,
Monte Vista, Idaho and Whittier Blvd.).
- Students who fail to comply with the above regulations will face disciplinary
action.
CAMPUS VISITORS
Persons wishing to visit the campus or classes or attend certain
specified
activities during school hours must first receive permission from a campus
administrator. Approval for student guests (who must be from out of the
area) must be obtained from teachers and administrators prior to the day of
visitation; this approval must then be presented in room 13 in order for a
guest pass to be approved and issued. |
